Written quote the same day

Tell us the rooms, the stairs and the parking, and the flat number comes back in writing.

Flat rate, nothing added later

Blankets, shrink wrap and tape are in the number. Nothing is re-priced once the truck is loaded.

Packing, full or partial

Dish barrels for kitchens, wardrobe cartons for closets, crates for glass and stone tops.

One crew lead, start to finish

The same person who surveys your home runs the load-out and the walkthrough at the end.

Out-of-state moves handled by the same crew and truck the whole way, under our own US DOT and MC authority. The written estimate is binding — the price does not climb once the truck is loaded.

How a long-distance move works

  • We survey your home — in person or over video — and send a binding written price.
  • The crew that loads in DC is the crew that unloads at the other end. No warehouse hand-offs.
  • Full-value protection is available, and we give you a delivery window you can plan around.

What the Flat Rate Already Covers

Each line below is part of every job as standard — none of it shows up as an extra charge when the final bill arrives.

  • Our own truck and crew on every mile — no brokered carrier, no load board
  • A signed flat number handed to you before the trailer touches the highway
  • Standard released value of $0.60 a pound, with full value protection on request
  • Blanket-wrap and shrink-wrap on furniture, included rather than billed by the roll
  • Beds, tables and mirrors disassembled at pickup and rebuilt at delivery
  • A single team that stays with the shipment from your stoop to the new address
  • A DDOT temporary no-parking permit pulled at the Washington end when the street needs one
  • Weekly departures to Philadelphia, New York, and Boston

Common Questions

Are you a moving company?
Yes — Three Brothers Moving is a fully licensed and insured Washington, DC moving company running our own trucks and uniformed crew, with US DOT and MC authority for interstate work.
Does my load stay on one truck the whole way to Boston, or get moved between vehicles?
It stays on the one truck. Malik's crew loads in Washington, drives the full I-95 run, and sets each piece down inside at the far end. There is no terminal along the corridor and no contracted driver ever touching your furniture in transit.
Is the driver on your payroll, or hired for the trip?
On our payroll. Malik heads our long-haul crew as a full-time employee, never a temp booked for the day. Because he handles loading the trailer, the driving and the unload personally, one named person answers for your shipment across the whole route.
Do you hold the authority to cross state lines yourself?
We do. Three Brothers is licensed and insured and holds US DOT and MC authority, so the Philadelphia, New York and Boston runs are ours to drive. Your household never gets brokered out to an unknown carrier found on a load board.
Is there an upcharge for leaving on a weekend?
There is not. A weekend send-off is priced exactly like a weekday. Malik schedules the load-out to fit your handover, aiming for the trailer to land in Philadelphia, New York or Boston on the day the new place is ready.
How do the miles factor into the flat price?
We combine the loaded distance with your volume in cubic feet and the access at both ends, then lock the number on paper before load day. That is why a 140-mile move to Philadelphia and a 440-mile haul to Boston land at different flat totals.
How it actually goes

See How We Work

  1. 1

Free quote — about 10 minutes

We handle: We ask room count, stairs or elevator, and where the truck can legally park, then send a flat written price.

What helps most: Have your building’s COI rules and elevator hours handy — it makes the number exact instead of a guess.

  2. 2

We lock the date, permits and elevator

We handle: We reserve the freight elevator and pull a DDOT temporary no-parking permit so the truck sits at your door, not three blocks away.

What helps most: Confirm your move-out and move-in windows with both buildings, then tell us the tighter one.

  3. 3

    Pack & protect

We handle: Blanket-wrap on every piece of furniture, shrink-wrap on upholstery, beds and table legs disassembled and bagged with their hardware.

What helps most: Label boxes by the room they go to, and keep documents, keys and small valuables with you, not on the truck.

  4. 4

Load, drive, place & walk through

We handle: The same crew that loads is the crew that unloads — furniture goes where you point, beds get rebuilt, packing debris leaves with us.

What helps most: Do the final walkthrough with the crew lead before we pull away, while everything can still be adjusted for free.
