These terms cover every quote, booking and completed job Three Brothers Moving carries out as a licensed and insured Washington, DC mover, operating under US DOT and MC authority for interstate moves. Booking a move means you accept them.
Quotes and pricing
- Local moves within DC and the DMV are priced as a flat rate. We build it from the crew size and hours a survey shows the job needs, and you sign the flat number before loading starts.
- Interstate moves are priced as a binding estimate based on the volume of your goods, the distance and the access at both ends, issued under our own US DOT and MC authority.
- A quote holds for 30 days. Once you sign, the number does not change unless you add items, addresses or services that were not in the survey.
Booking, deposits and payment
- We may take a deposit to hold your date; it is credited in full to your final invoice.
- The balance is due on completion, once your goods are delivered and placed. We accept card and other methods listed at booking.
- Certificate-of-insurance filings, elevator reservations and DDOT parking permits are arranged by us and, where a building or the city charges a fee, that fee is shown on your estimate.
Changes, cancellations and delays
- Tell us as early as you can if your date or details change; it matters most for condo COI filings and elevator bookings. We will rebook to the next available slot at no penalty where we can.
- A same-day cancellation may forfeit the deposit, since the crew and truck were held for you.
- If severe weather or an unsafe road makes a move date dangerous, we may reschedule rather than run a loaded truck onto it. Your price is unchanged.
Cargo protection and claims
- Every job carries released-value protection at $0.60 per pound per article as standard, at no extra charge. You may raise it to full-value protection on the amount you declare before load day.
- Note any damage on the delivery paperwork at the time, and file a written claim with our office. Interstate claims may be filed for up to nine months from delivery, as federal rules provide.
- We do not carry currency, jewelry, firearms, hazardous materials, perishables or live plants. Keep documents, keys and small valuables with you rather than on the truck.
Storage
- When a move includes storage in transit, the storage is quoted with the move as one written price and your goods stay in our secured space until the delivery date you name.
- Cargo protection stays in force for the whole time your goods are held.
